This Privacy Policy explains how Fort Lauderdale Jiu-Jitsu (“FTLJJ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit www.ftljj.com (the “Site”), contact us, book a class, or enroll yourself or your child in our programs.
By using the Site or providing information to us, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly
- Contact and inquiry information — name, email address, phone number, and any message you submit through a contact form, intro-lesson request, or booking page.
- Scheduling information — the program you are interested in, preferred class times, and appointment details when you book an introductory lesson.
- Enrollment and membership information — mailing address, emergency contact, date of birth, and program selection when you enroll.
- Student health and safety information — injuries, medical conditions, allergies, or physical limitations you voluntarily disclose so we can supervise training safely.
- Parent and guardian information — for students under 18, we collect the parent or guardian’s contact details along with the student’s name, age, and program information.
- Payment information — membership dues and other payments are processed by third-party payment processors. We do not store full card numbers on our systems; we may retain a truncated card identifier, billing name, and transaction history.
- Waivers and agreements — signed liability waivers, membership agreements, and photo or media consents.
- Communications — emails, text messages, voicemails, and call records exchanged with us.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data — IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, time on page, and general location inferred from IP address.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 5.
- Call tracking — some phone numbers displayed on the Site are tracking numbers that record the calling number, call time, and call duration so we can measure which marketing sources generate inquiries. Calls may be recorded or monitored for quality and training purposes where permitted by law; where recording occurs, you will be notified at the start of the call.
- Form and session analytics — interactions with forms and buttons on the Site.
Information from third parties
- Advertising and analytics platforms that report on ad and campaign performance.
- Review platforms, if you publicly post a review about us.
- Referrals, when an existing student or parent gives us your contact information with your knowledge.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Respond to inquiries and schedule introductory lessons, trials, and tours.
- Enroll students, manage memberships, and administer classes and events.
- Process payments, billing, and refunds.
- Supervise training safely and respond to injuries or emergencies.
- Send appointment confirmations, reminders, schedule changes, closures, and other transactional messages.
- Send promotional emails and text messages about programs, events, and offers, where you have consented (see Section 4).
- Measure and improve our website, marketing, and services.
- Maintain security, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
- Comply with legal obligations and defend legal claims.
4. Text Messages and Phone Calls
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Mobile information is shared only with service providers who help us deliver messages on our behalf, and those providers are prohibited from using it for any other purpose.
If you provide your phone number and opt in, you consent to receive calls and text messages from us at that number, including messages sent using automated technology. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Consent to receive marketing messages is not a condition of enrolling in classes or purchasing any service. You may still contact us and enroll without opting in.
To stop text messages, reply STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP or contact us at (954) 802-9831. You may still receive transactional messages related to an active booking or membership, such as appointment confirmations and closure notices.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember preferences, measure traffic, and deliver advertising. These include:
- Strictly necessary cookies — required for the Site to function and for security.
- Analytics cookies — including Google Analytics, deployed through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the Site.
- Advertising and conversion-tracking technologies — provided by platforms such as Google and Meta and deployed through our tag manager, used to measure ad performance and to show you our ads on other platforms.
- Performance and caching technologies — used to speed up page delivery.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. You can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, adjust Google ad personalization at My Ad Center, and adjust Meta ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works.
Our Site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required by applicable law.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising in exchange for money. We share information only as described below.
- Service providers — website hosting, customer relationship management and scheduling platforms, email and SMS delivery providers, payment processors, analytics and advertising platforms, and our marketing agency. These providers may use your information only to perform services for us.
- Instructors and staff — to deliver classes and maintain student safety.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of FTLJJ, our students, or the public, including in a medical emergency.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
- With your direction — for example, if you ask us to share information with a tournament organizer or affiliated academy.
All of the categories above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; that information will not be shared with any third parties.
7. Children’s Privacy
Our Youth Program serves students ages 4 through 15. The Site is directed to parents and guardians, not to children, and we do not knowingly permit children under 13 to create accounts, submit forms, or otherwise provide personal information to us through the Site.
Information about a minor student is collected from and provided by a parent or legal guardian during inquiry, booking, and enrollment. We use that information solely to schedule, deliver, and administer the child’s training and to communicate with the parent or guardian.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us directly, contact us at info@ftljj.com and we will delete it promptly. A parent or legal guardian may review, request deletion of, or refuse further collection of their child’s information at any time by contacting us.
8. Photos and Video
We may take photographs or video during classes, seminars, promotions, and events, and may use them on the Site, in social media, and in advertising. Media consent is addressed as part of enrollment, and you may decline or withdraw consent at any time. To request that an image of you or your child be removed, email info@ftljj.com with a description of the image and where it appears, and we will remove it from materials under our control.
9. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services and for legitimate business purposes afterward, including recordkeeping, accounting, and dispute resolution. Signed waivers, enrollment agreements, and injury records are retained for at least the period of the applicable Florida statute of limitations. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed.
10. Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted connections to the Site and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your Choices and Rights
- Email — unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email.
- Text messages — reply STOP.
- Access, correction, and deletion — email info@ftljj.com to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccuracies, or request deletion. We will verify your identity before acting and will respond within a reasonable time.
- Marketing preferences — tell us how you prefer to be contacted and we will honor it.
Florida residents may have rights under the Florida Digital Bill of Rights, and residents of other states may have rights under their own privacy laws. Some of those laws apply only to businesses above certain size or revenue thresholds. Regardless of whether a given law applies to us, we will honor reasonable access and deletion requests as described above.
12. Third-Party Links
The Site links to third-party services, including Google, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and our scheduling and payment providers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those services. Review their privacy policies before providing information to them.
13. Out-of-State and International Visitors
We operate in the United States and our services are intended for people located in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
